Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre

The Centre is in Capelo parish, about 25 kilometres from Horta city’s centre (about 30 minutes by car).

Leaving Horta city towards the west, follow the Regional Road and pass by the Feteira and Castelo Branco parishes. Arriving at Capelo parish, keep going on the Regional Road. After passing the entrance to Parque do Capelo (Capelo Forest Park) on the right, you will find an intersection where you should turn left, following the road signs indicating “Vulcão dos Capelinhos”. After about 4 kilometres, you will find on your left the access road to the volcano, where the Centre is.
