How to get there
Leave Ponta Delgada by the west side along the highway, take the Regional Road toward the area of Feteiras. Follow the signs pointing to Sete Cidades. Make the detour and continue until you find the Vista do Rei Viewpoint where you can park your car.

Appropriate footwear for walking, waterproof jacket, hat, sunscreen and water.
This trail begins at the Vista do Rei Viewpoint, well known for the fact that on July 6, 1901, King Carlos and Queen Amélia were at this site, and ends in the urban area of Sete Cidades parish.
Along the way, you can admire the splendour of the Caldeira das Sete Cidades highlighting the Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul and the Caldeira Seca and Caldeira do Alferes.
Start the trail in the Vista do Rei Viewpoint, following the dirt path that goes around the ridge of the Sete Cidades, by the west side.
Along the trail, you can observe extensive views inside the crater, namely the Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul (lagoons), the parish of Sete Cidades, the Caldeira Seca and Caldeira do Alferes and the NNW (north-northwest) coast of the island, especially the parishes of the Ginetes, Várzea and Mosteiros with its four islets.
Finish the trail arriving at the centre of Sete Cidades parish.
