Santa Iria

This viewpoint offers a wide panorama over the north coast of São Miguel. At a distance, you will notice Ponta do Cintrão and Ponta Formosa, as well as the ruins of the old spa of Ladeira da Velha, where the thermal spring was used for therapeutic purposes. Here, the battle of Ladeira Velha was fought in 1831, during the Portuguese Civil War.
