Contemplation zone of Pico Alto

From this viewpoint, you can contemplate Pico Alto, with 808 metres of altitude, inserted in the Biscoito da Ferraria e Pico Alto Nature Reserve. The communities of natural vegetation in the reserve occupy extensive forest, peatland and mountain woodland areas, being the majority endemic of the Azores. The fauna species more observed in this place are birds with a highlight to the endemic subspecies, namely the Buzzard (Buteo buteo rothschildi).
