Contemplation zone of Baía de Mós

From this viewpoint, one can observe the Baía da Mina or Baía de Mós (bay), flanked by Ponta das Contendas. The existing islets have one of the Azores’ biggest colonies of Roseate Terns (Sterna dougallii), a threatened European migratory seabird species.

In the Ponta das Contendas Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species, it is also possible to observe some endemic flora species of the Azores and Macaronesia.
