Protected Area of Resources Management
This maritime area has about 610 hectares and faces the Ponta do Topo and involves the Ilhéu do Topo (islet).
This site is relevant to wildlife species such as Cory’s Shearwater (Calonectris borealis), the Roseate Tern (Sterna dougallii), the Yellowmouth Barracuda (Sphyraena viridensis), the Felimare tricolor, the Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta), among others.
It integrates the defined boundaries for the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Costa Noroeste e Ponta do Topo, within the Natura 2000 network.
