Land area, of about 97.1 hectares considered an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA), covering the slope of the Fajã das Almas and where there is marine avifauna specimens, such as the Sterna dougallii, Sterna hirundo and Calonectris borealis and plant specimens such as Erica azorica, Morella faya and Picconia azorica.
