Pico da Urze

Located at 899 metres above sea level, at the centre of the island of Pico, this is a truly natural viewpoint that presents its visitors with a 360° view of almost the whole island. 

Integrated on the Zona Central Protected Landscape Area, from this viewpoint it is possible to see Pico Mountain, the Planalto Central (central plateau), the Mistério da Prainha, the Topo Volcano and the tracery of semi-natural pastures with vegetation mosaics that serve as shelter for cattle herding there. In the central area of this volcano, its crater coated with several species of endemic flora is also visible.
