Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species
With 89 hectares, this protected area consists of a coastline from the seashore up to the edge of the sea-cliffs that reach more than 50 metres of altitude.
The main habitat of this area are endemic Macaronesian heaths and vegetated sea-cliffs with endemic flora of the Macaronesian coasts. In terms of birds, this area is particularly significant for the Puffinus lherminieri baroli and the Calonectris borealis.
This protected area is also an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA) of the BirdLife International organization.
