Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species

This protected area, with about 38 hectares, extends from the Ribeira dos Biscoitos (stream) until the Ribeira da Borda do Mistério (stream).
The main habitat of this area are endemic Macaronesian heaths and vegetated sea-cliffs with endemic flora of the Macaronesian coasts, being particularly important for the bird species Puffinus lherminieri baroli and Calonectris borealis.
This protected area is also an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA) of the BirdLife International organization.
