Observatório do Mar dos Açores

OMA is a non-profit technical, scientific and cultural association based in the Porto Pim Whale Factory in Horta, manager of the Azores Sea Observatory, which is part of the Azores Science Centres Network. The association is equivalent to “ONGA”, certified by APA (Portuguese Environment Agency). In 2010, it was considered as a Public Utility Institution. Its objectives include the dissemination of science and technology and the promotion of interpretation and environmental education activities within the scope of the Marine Sciences.
