Cabeço do Fogo
Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species

Cabeço do Fogo has a 27 hectares area and belongs to the Capelo Volcanic Complex.
This area consists of some patches of native vegetation, Macaronesian woodlands, Laurel Forest and Short Leafed Juniper (Juniperus brevifolia) forests. Moreover, it is an extremely important zone for the nesting of the species Azores Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus azorica).
