How to get there
Follow the Valverde Municipal Road and go right at Caminho do Facho, in direction of Brasil place. As an alternative, you can follow the walking trail of Costa Sul.

The Interpretive Circuit of Pedreira do Campo consists of a walkway of unique architecture where the visitor can enjoy selected information about the present geological and paleontological heritage.
The Pedreira do Campo, classified as a Regional Natural Monument, is an old inerts exploration front, with about 260 metres, carved in basaltic, submarine and lava flows (pillow lavas), unique in the regional context. Here, the presence of marine fossils, abundant and diversified at an altitude of 180 metres, is evidence of the island's geological history and of the marine regression that occurred about 5 million years ago.
