Parents and Guardians Association helps build a forest on the island of Pico
Aug. 6, 2024
To mark the end of the school year, the Parents and Guardians Association of the EBS of São Roque do Pico challenged families to volunteer at Lagoa do Caiado. A total of 105 individuals of Azorean Blueberry (Vaccinium cylindraceum) were planted, contributing to the re-naturalisation of an old pasture in Lagoa do Caiado.
This action, which took place as part of the LIFE BEETLES project's nature conservation work, aims to increase habitat availability for the Ground Beetle, a beetle endemic to the island of Pico, in the long term.
