LIFE IP AZORES NATURA takes part in the Terceira Nature Park Advisory Board

July 16, 2024

In June, the Terceira Nature Park Advisory Board met, and LIFE IP AZORES NATURA, through its manager, was present. In this meeting, the participants discussed not only the status of the project's actions, but also the planning of future actions.

The project has the largest number of intervention areas, totalling 371 ha, on Terceira. The effort to control invasive alien species has been redoubled and is progressing well. Furthermore, considering the habitat restoration work on Terceira, 2295 specimens of native tree species have already been planted in 2024 alone.

The Nature Parks Advisory Boards are fundamental tools for these management bodies, as they bring together organisations responsible for various areas necessary for the smooth running of the protected areas and the conservation work carried out by the Environment and Climate Change Services on each of the islands.

LIFE IP AZORES NATURA's participation in the Nature Parks Advisory Boards on each island is part of action F4 (Stakeholder Advisory Board) of the project and is an essential tool for the consultants to monitor the management and implementation of the actions on each island.
