Feeling Pico, feeling the insects

As part of the Feeling Pico Festival at Lajido de Santa Luzia, on the island of Pico, the LIFE BEETLES project provided 2nd cycle students with an environmental awareness activity called Feeling Insects.

This activity was an adaptation of the Insects under the magnifying glass activity, which is included in the Educational Offer of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action. It allowed students to learn a little about how insects perceive their surroundings.

In a room where the students heard different sounds of insects and nature, they could also observe the details of some of the insects' sensory organs under a magnifying glass.
