May 29, 2024

During March, conservation work continued on the island of Graciosa under the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project and in collaboration with the Graciosa Environment and Climate Change Service, namely:

  • planting 79 Azorean Bishopsweed plants (Ammi trifoliatum) in Caldeirinha de Pêro Botelho. So far, a total of 601 individuals of this species have been planted between Ponta Branca and Caldeirinha;
  • planting 39 Azorean Coastal Spurge plants (Euphorbia azorica) on Ilhéu de Baixo;
  • removal of invasive plants at Ponta Branca, cutting down 1000 square metres and testing invasive eradication techniques.
