Restoring access to the Aveiro Waterfall on Santa Maria

The Santa Maria Environment and Climate Change Service, in partnership with the Santo Espírito Parish Council, has rehabilitated a large part of the access road to the Aveiro Waterfall, and the rehabilitation of the entire section is expected to be finalised soon.

The work carried out, which is an excellent example of cooperation with parish councils, was visited as part of the “Eco-freguesia” programme's Awards for Excellence ceremony, held on the island of Santa Maria on 14 May and attended by the Regional Secretary for the Environment and Climate Action, Alonso Miguel.
