The International Day for Biological Diversity aims to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues, reinforcing the idea that a radical change is necessary in our relationship with nature and other living beings, in order to structure and build a world truly shared.
Therefore, the Regional Secretariat for Environment and Climate Action invites the entire community to celebrate this event in communion with nature. A day full of environmental awareness activities and much more is expected.
Throughout the day, the Nursery of Rare Plants and the Seed Bank open their doors to everyone who wants to watch or participate in the several maintenance and/or conservation works taking place.
At 14h00, an inauguration ceremony for the outdoor interpretative exhibition will take place, followed by a guided tour where you can discover most of the Azorean native plants, organized by 𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵, as well as aromatic and medicinal plants, exotic ornamentals plants, agricultural and traditional fruit crops, and also a magnificent collection of orchids.
Don't forget to taste the Garden's infusions and enjoy a different day.
We count on your presence!
