Fajãs de São Jorge BR – Official Opening Session

There are 4 days left until the official opening of the 2nd edition of the Festival of Biosphere Reserves of Portugal on the island of São Jorge!

This event will start on 3 May, at 20h00, at the Auditório Municipal de Velas, with several exhibitions and the official opening at 21h00 with the presence of the Mayor of Velas and the Manager of the Fajãs de São Jorge Biosphere Reserve, ending with a Viola da Terra concert.

On 4 May, will take place the seminar “Sustainable Territories and Resilient Communities” with the presence of the Regional Secretary for the Environment and Climate Action, several presentations from the most varied entities linked to this theme, a round table entitled “Threats and Opportunities of Biosphere Reserves of Portugal” with the Managers of several national Biosphere Reserves, and lastly a guided tour to the Casa Museu da Cunha Silveira.
