Congratulations to the Terceira Nature Park!

This Nature Park consists of areas with very diverse characteristics. It displays the largest and most balanced complex of unaltered natural areas in the Azores, stretching from sea level to the highest altitudes.
The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action pursues its mission of coherent and integrated management of nature conservation, landscapes and natural resources present in its territory through the following actions:
- Monitoring and early identification of the appearance of invasive species in the Caldeira de Serra de Santa Bárbara;
- Maintenance of trails;
- Maintenance of the Furnas do Enxofre Interpretive Circuit;
- Removal and control of invasive and alien species in the eucalyptus groves of Algar do Carvão and Furnas do Enxofre, Terra Brava, Lagoa do Pinheiro, Turfeira da Lomba, Biscoito da Ferraria, Quinta da Madalena, the Serra de Santa Bárbara's side of the road, Algar do Carvão – Pico Alto road and Biscoitos;
- Restoration of habitats and native species;
- Conversion of alien eucalyptus forests into natural forests;
- Planting of endemic species in the eucalyptus groves of Algar do Carvão and Furnas do Enxofre, Rocha do Chambre.
