From 28 February to 1 March this year, the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project team met on the island of São Miguel with the ELMEN agency monitor for the project's fourth monitoring visit.

A visit was made to some of the intervention areas where several of the works carried out under the project are currently taking place on the island of São Miguel, including the Fajã de Cima Meteorological Station, the Santana Experimental Field, where it was possible to see the tests carried out on climate-resilient biodiverse pastures, the Grota do Cinzeiro Stream, the areas where degraded forest and pastures have been converted into native forest and, finally, the endemic species orchard for collecting seeds, installed in the Cerrado dos Bezerros, in Vila Franca do Campo.
During the field trip, the drone with a LiDAR sensor, acquired under the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, was also demonstrated.
This visit enabled an assessment of LIFE IP CLIMAZ's current situation and progress, as well as some of the work taking place in the Region.
