LIFE IP AZORES NATURA organises an exhibition on natural heritage at CALSC

Last October, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, held its exhibition on the Azores' Natural Heritage at the Lagoa das Sete Cidades Environmental Complex as part of action E4 - Environmental Education Programme. This presentation was attended by 45 students from Ribeira Grande High School, from the Tourism Information and Animation, Environmental Management and Civil Protection courses.

Considering that it is essential to raise awareness of the project's actions and nature conservation among schoolchildren and the general public in a didactic and appealing way, this travelling exhibition was created and distributed throughout the nine islands.

In this exhibition, in which the central theme is the natural heritage of the Azores, LIFE IP AZORES NATURA seeks to present the species listed in the Birds and Habitats Directives and that are part of a set of target species for conservation by the project.

In the first part, this exhibition introduces the LIFE programme, its importance and, in greater detail, the actions that are being implemented, referring to the objectives, intervention areas and beneficiaries. The exhibition is then divided into two chapters, one terrestrial and the other marine.
