Training session

In an educational and practical effort, LIFE SNAILS organized a training session for all the technicians at the Santa Maria Environment and Climate Change Service (SAACSM). This activity began in the field with some of the technicians present, contrasting the work carried out in the intervention areas with the adjacent non-intervened zones; the reason for the changes and how they constitute the path to restoring a habitat closer to the original were made clear; at the same time, care was taken in subsequent interventions to avoid trampling the replanted areas, thus avoiding as much as possible the disturbance of possible species that have naturally expanded into these new areas.

Later, at the SAACSM facilities, in front of the team of operational technicians dedicated to the project and others attached to the Service, theoretical and practical training was given on the target species, including observation of the specimens collected previously and an interactive presentation.
