Last October, as part of the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change (SRRAC), an in-house training course was held on hand-held motorised equipment, chainsaws and brush cutters for LIFE IP CLIMAZ operational assistants hired by the Regional Directorate for Spatial Planning and Water Resources and senior officials from SRAAC.

This training course took place on Terceira island, at the workshops of the local STIHL representative, with the aim of the trainees learning and perfecting safety, ergonomic and work efficiency techniques, as well as cleaning and mechanical maintenance of the respective equipment acquired, within the scope of Sub-Action 5.3 - Demonstration project for "Ecosystem-based adaptation" to deal with extreme climate change in river basins.

The aim is to improve productivity and safety at work, prevent accidents and ensure proper maintenance of this potentially dangerous equipment.
