Group of German students cooperates with LIFE IP AZORES NATURA in São Miguel
July 6, 2023
A group of 24 students and 2 German teachers from the University of Applied Forestry Sciences in Rottenburg, have travelled to the island of São Miguel in May this year. During their stay, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project provided visits to the project's intervention areas, to Pomar das Furnas, where a project's native and endemic plant nursery is currently located, and also to Furnas' Monitoring and Research Centre.
At Lagoa do Fogo it was also possible to conduct an interpretative tour about the area's natural values and describe the project's actions in the nature reserve, highlighting the importance of recovering that habitat.
This type of activities is part of Action E5 "Public involvement and volunteer programme", which, as the name indicates, counts on the collaboration of volunteers to help carry out conservation work, engaging local communities in the project.
