Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change supports the Santa Maria Trail - SMAT 2023

The Environment and Climate Change Service of the island of Santa Maria is developing an important action to manage and preserve the quality of the pedestrian and mountain bike trails under its responsibility.

With emphasis on the large route and the small route trails (PR01, PR02, PR04 and PR05) - TrilhosParquesNaturaisSMA, approximately 60 kilometers were traveled in recent weeks, for the cleaning and conservation of these routes.

This action has the primary objective of contributing to the continuous improvement of the trails on the island of Santa Maria, promoting a pleasant and safe experience for ecotourism lovers and mountain bikers.

It is also noteworthy that this action is directly reflected in the quality of the Santa Maria Trail - SMAT 2023 event, held on the last June 10th, making it even more attractive to sports and contact with nature.
