LIFE VIDALIA in a replication action of the project results on Madeira island

LIFE VIDALIA, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, carried out, on 5 and 6 April, a replication action of the project results on the island of Madeira.

The technical meeting, foreseen in the LIFE VIDALIA application, aimed at the historical cooperation between the Faial Botanic Garden and the Madeira Botanic Garden (currently integrated in IFCN-RAM) to achieve a Macaronesian approach.

In the presentation of the results of LIFE VIDALIA, it was discussed, together with the technicians of the respective projects and entities – LIFE DUNAS, Funchal Ecological Park, SPEA Madeira and LIFE PTERODROMAS4FUTURE – the possible interest and possibilities of promoting joint replication, as well as the identification of existing opportunities.

The results of this technical meeting were extremely promising for the future replication strategy, in post-project, that LIFE VIDALIA will leave defined until the end of June 2023, namely, regarding strategies to combat invasive alien flora species.

Replication is one of the crucial pillars of the LIFE Programme because other projects benefit from the knowledge and experience already acquired.
