2nd Monitoring Visit to LIFE SNAILS
April 21, 2023
On 31 March and 1 April, the LIFE SNAILS team met on Santa Maria island with the NEEMO agency monitor, Dr João Salgado, for the second monitoring visit of the project.
The visit was attended by the beneficiaries of the project: coordinating beneficiary, the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change (SRAAC), as well as the associated beneficiaries, the Regional Directorate for the Environment and Climate Change (DRAAC), the company Desafio das Letras (DDL) and the Regional Directorate of Forestry Resources (DRRF).
This visit allowed an assessment of the current situation and progress of LIFE SNAILS.
After the presentation of the project's status, a field trip was made to the DRRF nurseries and the intervention areas where renaturation works are being carried out to improve the habitat of the three endemic snail species (Leptaxis minor, Azorivitrina angulosa and Oxychilus agostinhoi).
In this way, LIFE SNAILS thanks for the visit and is committed to the success of the objectives set for the LIFE Programme.
