LIFE IP AZORES NATURA participates in the 2022 Sement Event

“Sement Event” has as a double purpose of celebrating, in Mata Nacional do Bussaco, the National Day of the Autochthonous Forest and presenting and discussing activities developed within the scope of nature and biodiversity preservation actions.

This event is organized by the Mata do Buçaco Foundation, F.P. (FMB), through the LIFE BRIGHT project – Bussaco's Recovery of Invasions Generating Habitat Threats, and supported by the financial instrument LIFE+ - Nature and Biodiversity. In 2022, its central theme is the propagation of native species, enhancement and restoration of degraded spaces and control of invasive alien species.

This year, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, was invited to join in this event, having presented its main progress, mainly with regard to conservation actions for native flora and control of invasive alien species.

The dissemination of the work carried out by the project, as well as the discussion of methodologies and sharing of knowledge in the area of nature and biodiversity conservation are two of the goals of LIFE IP AZORES NATURA through Action E3 “Networking with other LIFE and/or non-LIFE Projects”.
