Team building of Wild Ginger sprouts removal in Lagoa Rasa

The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change promoted a team-building activity last September on the island of Flores.

The chosen site was the Lagoa Rasa, an intervention area of the LIFE BEETLES project, and the action consisted of manuaaly removing sprouts of Wild Ginger (Hedychium gardnerianum). Team-building activities favour productivity, motivation and teamwork. Thus, this intervention was relevant for developing multidisciplinary teams in field activities and controlling this invasive species. Manual intervention was indispensable in this area since the new Wild Ginger sprouts were the ideal size to be removed without using machinery.
