Congratulations to the Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture Interpretation Centre!
June 29, 2022
Inaugurated in 2010, aiming to be an information point about the Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture, this Environmental Centre is a mandatory stop for those who intend to better discover this landscape classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 2004.
This Centre includes a permanent exhibition and a documentary on the Landscape of the Vineyard Culture, a place to host temporary exhibitions and a traditional treading tank.
Visitors to the central core of the Lajido de Santa Luzia will have the opportunity to visit the vine and fig tree “plots”, as well as the “lajidos”, the local name for fields with micro-reliefs engraved by lava, where various species of endemic flora later settled.
