“Environment’s path” activity

On 5 June we celebrate World Environment Day: a date created half a century ago at the 1st United Nations Conference. As part of this commemoration, the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, with the support of the Azores UNESCO Global Geopark, will organize a region-wide activity promoting 50 sites of environmental interest, including environmental centres, protected areas, geosites and trails in classified areas.

The activity provides participants with an experience of involvement with nature by challenging them to visit the marked places on each island while promoting environmental education and knowledge of the natural heritage of the Azores.
