LIFE VIDALIA em exposicao in the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre

April 11, 2022

The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change invites you to visit the itinerant exhibition of the LIFE VIDALIA project, on display since 1 April, at the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre.

The exhibition's main objective is to promote this LIFE nature conservation project, which started in 2018. The autonomous interpretation of the exhibition allows discovering the localization of the 20 intervention areas and respective target species,β€―π˜ˆπ˜»π˜°π˜³π˜ͺ𝘯𝘒 𝘷π˜ͺπ˜₯𝘒𝘭𝘭π˜ͺ andβ€―π˜“π˜°π˜΅π˜Άπ˜΄ 𝘒𝘻𝘰𝘳π˜ͺ𝘀𝘢𝘴, through their morphological characteristics as leaves, flowers and even of its fruits.

You will discover curiosities about several native and endemic species of the Azores and some exotic species that invade the coastal areas of our Archipelago and are, therefore, targeted for eradication by LIFE VIDALIA.

Some of the activities developed by the project are also shown. In addition to the intervention areas that include all the sites of the Natura 2000 network on the islands of Faial, Pico and São Jorge, the community involvement, environmental education and communication campaigns of the project's work are aimed at the entire Region.

To finalize the interpretive visit, you will also have the chance to test your knowledge of LIFE VIDALIA and the themes related to the project by answering questions that will be presented to you, according to the level of difficulty you choose, from the multimedia kiosk that accompanies the panels.
