LIFE IP AZORES NATURA promotes the regeneration of one of the largest populations of Ammi trifoliatum of the Azores
April 6, 2022
The mechanical removal of invasive species, namely Hedychium gardnerianum and Rubus ulmifolius, that were in the Ponta Branca zone, on Graciosa, allowed the natural regeneration of the only population of the endemic species Ammi trifoliatum of the island.
Carried out by the Graciosa Environment and Climate Change Service, within the scope of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, this and other future interventions in this area will allow the species Ammi trifoliatum to develop without the threats of the invasive species that compete for resources and space.
