Removal of invasive species at Fajã do Araújo on São Miguel
April 1, 2022
The LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, in collaboration with the São Miguel Environment and Climate Change Service, promoted last month an invasive species cleaning action on the talus of the Fajã do Araújo on Vila do Nordeste.
This cleaning action followed an alert regarding the uncontrolled propagation of Osteospermum fruticosum, considered a high-risk alien species.
During the intervention, were also sown seeds of the endemic species Azorina vidalii, Solidago azorica, Pericallis malvifolia and Festuca petraea.
