As part of the international event “Trees for the World”, LIFE IP AZORES NATURA promoted the planting of about 400 individuals of endemic species and the placement of 400 individual protection tubes in Lagoa do Negro, the project's area of intervention on the island of Terceira.

In this voluntary action, were used endemic species produced in the Faial Botanical Garden: Prunus azorica,Ilex azorica and produced in forest nurseries on Terceira, such as the  Frangula azorica.

In the intervention area where the activity took place, a large amount of exotic and invasive species has recently been removed, mainly Rubus ulmifolius, but also Hedychium gardnerianum, Cyathea cooperi and Cryptomeria japonica.

This activity of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, within the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, was carried out in partnership with the Regional Council of the National Scout Corps (CNE - Corpos Nacional de Escuteiros) and attended by 90 participants, including Scouts and their families.
