Science, Technology and Environment Fair: “Science, Environment and Future”

On 19 May, the Science, Technology and Environment Fair took place at Escola Secundária Vitorino Nemésio, in Praia da Vitória, in a joint initiative between the Azores Environment Observatory - Angra do Heroísmo Science Centre, Escola Secundária Vitorino Nemésio, and the Terceira Island Sports Service, with the participation of the LIFE SNAILS project.
Throughout the day, the school community of Praia da Vitória had the opportunity to engage closely with several entities working in the scientific, technological, and environmental fields, fostering knowledge, curiosity, and environmental awareness.
This initiative also included the celebration of several important dates:
National Scientists’ Day
World Bee Day
International Day for Biological Diversity
World Fascination of Plants Day
The LIFE SNAILS project played a significant role in promoting environmental literacy, emphasizing the importance of conserving Azorean biodiversity and endemic terrestrial mollusc species among younger generations.
The event welcomed 459 participants, including students and teachers, reflecting the strong interest and engagement of the educational community.
