SRAAC takes part in INTER LIFE PT 2026

The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action (SRAAC), as part of the LIFE CAP PT II project, took part in INTER LIFE PT 2026, which was held at the University of Évora, at the Colégio do Espírito Santo, on 24 and 25 March. This annual event, organised by the Portuguese Environment Agency, primarily aims to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices among the various LIFE projects currently underway at the national level.

This year’s edition was marked by Spain's participation through its National Contact Point, as well as by the presence of several projects currently under development in that country, which helped strengthen the Iberian dimension of the meeting and facilitated the sharing of complementary perspectives.

As regards the Autonomous Region of the Azores, it is worth highlighting the participation of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the SRAAC, as well as the presentation of two new projects: LIFE IP AGRILOOP and LIFE POLINIZAÇORES, both coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Food, highlighting the Region’s dynamism in implementing initiatives under the LIFE programme.

The event also included a field trip to Herdade Terra de Freiras, which is part of the LIFE Scrubsnet project. This practical component enabled participants to gain first-hand insight into the project’s various activities and objectives, whilst providing an excellent opportunity for discussion, learning and knowledge-sharing amongst those involved.
