Target species of the LIFE SNAILS project featured in Azorean museums

Jan. 22, 2026

After the visibility given by photographer Pepe Brix to the endemic land snails of the island of Santa Maria in the prestigious National Geographic magazine, the Santa Maria Museum presents, until the end of January, the exhibition “10 Years of Stories in Photography”, in which Leptaxis minor, a target species of the LIFE SNAILS project, is given prominent attention.

The exhibition will then tour the Azores archipelago, allowing visitors to gain deeper insight into the photographer’s work and into the LIFE SNAILS project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action.
