Zero plastic on the smallest island

Zero plastic on the smallest island

Nov. 14, 2025

Thursday, 20 November

(17h30) Meeting point: Ribeirão

Visit to the Waste Processing Centre

(18h30) Information session at the Community Centre

The island of Corvo is at the centre of a change — a change in habits.

Opting for reusable bags instead of plastic bags is a goal of this small but mighty Azorean island, which is why the people of Corvo have joined the ‘Zero plastic in the smallest’ campaign.

With this initiative, the Regional Government of the Azores is providing each family with a kit of reusable bags, which will be distributed door-to-door in November.

An environmental awareness activity will be promoted for traders and the community in general, consisting of a guided tour of the Waste Processing Centre (CPR), followed by an information session at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Vila do Corvo Social Centre (CCSCMVC).

The Corvo Environment and Climate Action Service will provide transport between Ribeirão – CPR – CCSCMVC.

We are counting on you!
