We have already installed traps in every intervention area!

We have already installed traps in every intervention area!

Sept. 17, 2021

Rodents are invasive fauna species that represent a serious threat to the Azorina vidalii and to the Lotus azoricus, as well as to their companion species. Therefore, the LIFE VIDALIA project carries out its control in the intervention areas as well in their surroundings, through the installation of traps for mice and rats.

This new model of traps does not include chemical products that pollute the ecosystems and eliminate the rodents quickly. Moreover, its performance and bait were elaborated specifically to rodents, not representing a threat to the other fauna species.

Traps have already been placed in all intervention areas in the three islands of the triangle, which have proved to be a success, making them indispensable in combating the proliferation of rodents in these areas.
