International Bat Night

Aug. 28, 2025

The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action is celebrating the 29th edition of International Bat Night with a series of regional events scheduled to take place between August 29 and September 3. Some of these activities will be open to the public, thus broadening the scope of the celebrations.
There will be an opportunity to observe the only mammal endemic to the archipelago, the Azores bat (๐˜•๐˜บ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ป๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ), as well as to hear and interpret the sounds they emit, using an ultrasound detector.
