Registration is now open for the 16th Regional Environmental Education Meeting and 31st Environmental Education Pedagogical Conference

The programme for the 16th Regional Environmental Education Meeting and 31st Environmental Education Pedagogical Conference, to be held on the island of Faial from 29 September to 2 October 2025, is now available for consultation.

This event is a unique opportunity to bring together two significant events in the field of Environmental Education in Portugal: the 16th Regional Meeting on Environmental Education (EREA), a biennial event held in the Azores, and the 31st Pedagogical Conference on Environmental Education (JPEA), which takes place annually in a decentralised manner, covering different regions of the country.

Focused on the theme of geodiversity and under the theme ‘Memory of the Earth: A beacon in Environmental Education,’ this edition will address four thematic areas: geoeducation, natural and cultural identity, ecosystem services, and natural hazards and climate change. Over several days, there will be thematic panels, practical workshops and field trips, as well as the presentation of the Eco-Schools award.

This meeting is aimed at teachers, environmental technicians, companies, NGOs, local authorities, students, researchers and other professionals or those interested in the field of environmental education who wish to acquire and share knowledge in this area, which is essential for environmentally responsible and socially just societies.
