LIFE IP CLIMAZ presents Agri-CUA meteorological app

Cooperativa União Agrícola, a partner of the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, presented the application developed under the project at the 2nd Encontro Micaelense da Cultura do Milho.

Aimed at farmers, the ‘Agri-CUA’ application integrates a network of meteorological stations installed in strategic locations on the island of São Miguel, which are relevant to agricultural practices. The devices enable the collection of more precise information by monitoring various parameters, including wind speed and direction, temperature, air humidity, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, and solar radiation.

The availability of this data helps local farmers to make more informed and preventive decisions throughout the various stages of crop development. Weather forecasts are tailored to the location based on past weather patterns, allowing for adjustments to the planting schedule and increased crop yields.

 

The app is only available for Android and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store.
