Regional Coastal and Subaquatic Clean-up Campaign 2025

As part of the celebrations for European Maritime Day (20 May), the Regional Secretariat for the Sea and Fisheries (SRMP), through the Regional Directorate for Maritime Policy (DRPM), in collaboration with the BlueAzores programme, invites the entire Azorean community to join the Regional Coastal and Subaquatic Clean-up Campaign 2025. Let's join forces to clean up our coastline and protect marine life, ensuring a healthier environment for everyone.

All the initiatives reported to the DRPM during 2025 will contribute to the objectives of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA and CircularOcean projects, as well as to international reporting in the context of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR).

🤝 How can you help?

- Organise a clean-up action in your area.

- Take part in planned clean-up campaigns.

- Publicise this initiative on your social networks and invite friends and family to join in.

- After the event, record the type and weight of the waste collected at www.lixomarinho.azores.gov.pt.
