March 19, 2025
The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action recently celebrated World Wetlands Day and National Park Rangers Day with various educational and interactive initiatives. These activities aimed to highlight the importance of preserving wetlands, which are essential for biodiversity and climate balance, and to promote the fundamental role of Park Rangers in conserving the Azores' natural heritage.
More than 140 students participated in the 11 activities organised, where they had the opportunity to learn, in a practical and interactive way, about the need to protect and value the ecosystems of the Azores.

All the activities had the collaboration of the Azorean Park Rengers, who demonstrated a little of their daily surveillance, inspection and monitoring duties, which enable the safeguarding and well-being of populations and the balance of ecosystems.
