SRAAC distributed reusable bottles as part of the Eco-Schools programme
Jan. 8, 2025
On 15 November, the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, through LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, delivered reusable bottles to all the students, teachers and staff of the Escola Profissional da Câmara do Comércio de Ponta Delgada.
This action resulted from a meeting held as part of the Eco-Schools programme, which identified the excessive production of packaging waste from water bottles and soft drinks, a problem associated with the school’s location.
By handing over these bottles, which come from the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, the aim is to encourage the school community to change its consumption habits, in particular by replacing soft drinks with tap water and eliminating disposable packaging, thereby reducing waste production and contributing to sustainability and a healthier environment.
This action is in line with the objectives of the Regional Climate Change Program, namely in terms of reducing waste production, focusing on the 4 “R's”: refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle.
