LIFE SNAILS - Field Staff
Jan. 7, 2025
Control and conservation work in the intervention areas of Pico Alto, on the island of Santa Maria, under actions C.2 and C.3 of the LIFE SNAILS project, continues to progress. In public woodlands and along the water lines of the Ribeira da Praia catchment area, various actions are underway, such as the control of invasive species, the creation of nature-based infrastructures and the planting of endemic species.
Field staff are effectively recovering Santa Maria's endemic snail habitats under the coordination of the Santa Maria Environment and Climate Action Service.
With commitment and determination, the team of operatives ensure the success of the interventions, making a significant contribution to preserving the island's natural habitats and biodiversity.
