LIFE IP CLIMAZ promotes training on safety when working at heights/slopes with chainsaws and rope systems
Dec. 20, 2024
At the end of October, under the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, two specialized training courses were held on working at heights/slopes using chainsaws and ropes. A total of 25 trainees participated in the training sessions, which were held on the island of São Miguel from 24 to 28 October and on the island of Terceira from 29 to 31 October.
The training consisted of two parts. The theoretical part on São Miguel happened at the Furnas Environmental Interpretation Centre and on Terceira at the island's Environment and Climate Action Service. The practical part was carried out in specific intervention areas on each island.
Coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action and totalling 21 hours, the main aim of this training course was to promote safety during high-risk tasks, requiring specific skills for handling equipment at height and on steep slopes.
